CONGRESS IS THE KEY TO OUR FREEDOM! October 29, 2008 The Presidential Election is less than a week away. With both major candidates approved and supported by the Eastern Establishment, whoever is elected will pursue the same Establishment policies that have been followed for decades. So what do we do to preserve and restore our Freedom? The Founders of our Republic gave us the answer by giving most of the political power in the Federal Government to the Congress, specifically to the House of Representatives. 1. “All bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives”. Should the House fail to fund a program or agency, how many bureaucrats would be willing to work for nothing? 2. Article III of the Constitution gives Congress the power to dismiss judges who are not exhibiting “good behavior”. Federal judges, including Supreme Court Justices, who legislate from the bench may thereby be removed. 3. Article III of the Constitution also gives Congress the power to “regulate” which cases may be brought before the Supreme Court. Should the Supreme Court be out of line in a decision, the Congress may rectify the situation. At my last count, there were five bills now before Congress regulating which cases the Supreme Court may hear. 4. The Constitution states, “All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States,”. Presidential Executive Orders, Presidential Signing Statements, Presidential Decision Directives, the Line Item Veto, and Administrative Law by Federal Agencies are examples of legislation by the Executive Branch. A bill in Congress stripping the Executive Branch of all legislative power will go a long way toward restoring the Separation of Powers which is foundational to our Freedom.
To preserve and restore our Freedom we need an alert and active Congress. With such a Congress the excesses of the Executive and Judicial Branches may be rectified. Recent events in Washington have convinced me that when there is enough constituent pressure, most in Congress will vote to please the folks back home. This is not an easy task, but it is eminently doable. It will take pullers at the oars of the ship of Freedom however, not merely passengers in the boat. Will you defend your Freedom? Are you willing to take the time and effort to influence Congress toward the Freedom position? Your Freedom and the Freedom of your children's children ride on your answer. A PRAYER REQUEST.
We are requesting a day of thanksgiving and prayer for this weekend, November 1st and 2nd. Our Freedom is threatened as never before, and only a strong, alert Congress and an active citizenry will be able to protect it. We suggest that you pray for the following: 1. That many of those elected to Congress will be protectors of our Freedom and restorers of the Separation of Powers. This prayer may be extended to all of those elected to any branch of government, federal, state or local. 2. That the Spirit of Freedom may enlighten those elected to office and the citizens of our nation. 3. That the voters of California, Arizona and elsewhere may vote to preserve a traditional definition of marriage. 4. That the the organizations and individuals striving to take our Freedom may lose their media, financial, and governmental support. We live in a wonderful time to be alive with many opportunities for service in the cause of Freedom. Let us so live our lives and serve our nation, that God, seeing our efforts, will magnify those efforts and cause the United States to again serve as the beacon of Freedom for the entire world. Letter to the Editor; The Wall Street Bailout is the largest transfer of wealth from the American Taxpayer to special banking interests in the history of our nation. The Treasury Secretary, Mr. Paulson, has complete control of where the money goes and there is absolutely no oversight. What is to stop him from giving money to his Wall Street and Chinese banking cronies for favors or payments from them? The voting record on the Bailout is as follows: Senator A voted --- Bailout. Senator B voted --- Bailout. Representative X voted --- Bailout. Those who voted against Bailout are to be congratulated. Those who voted for Bailout should never be trusted with public office again. Whether they were threatened, blackmailed, or bribed, they may not be trusted to represent us in the future. Vote against anyone who voted for Bailout including Obama and McCain! 2 Chr. 7: 14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
