Prayer Alert: November 28, 2008 MORALITY NEEDED. This Thanksgiving week has brought to mind our many gifts from God. Chief among these are the Freedoms enumerated in the Declaration of Independence, which are secured by our inspired Constitution, and the hope we have of eternal life. If we expect to retain and restore our Freedom, we had better acknowledge the words of John Adams: "Our constitution," said John Adams (first vice-president and second president of the United States), "was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other" As Americans, we must exemplify and require moral conduct in all of our relationships. Our Freedom is at stake and is dependent upon our morality as a people. God will not magnify our efforts to retain and restore our Freedom, or confound the efforts of the enemies of Freedom if we are not a moral people. We must bring our conduct into harmony with the Ten Commandments and Christian virtues, and encourage all Americans to do the same. Let it be said of our people, their word is their bond, they live moral and virtuous lives.
A PRAYER REQUEST. When we give thanks to God for our many blessing and ask daily for the needs of our nation to be met, we acknowledge our dependence upon Him and our gratitude to Him for the multiplication of our efforts and the bounteous harvest from those efforts. We can accomplish little without God's help, but with His aid we will retain and restore our Freedom, truly a gift from God. We suggest the following be included in your prayer. 1. Give thanks for preserving traditional marriage in California, Arizona, and Florida. There are now 40 states ( 80% of the states) which have laws protecting the sanctity of marriage. 2. Give thanks for some positive happening in Immigration. e.g. Border fence in New Mexico brings apprehensions down 60% and narcotics down 100%. Homeland Security will complete 370 miles of fence by years end. Illegals leaving Arizona and Oklahoma due to state immigration laws. ICE deportations are up 50%, and major arrests of illegals in NY, PA, NJ, DE, MN, SC, TX, FL, and CA were made during October. 3. Give thanks for an increased awareness of the proper role of government which many of our citizens acquired during the campaign this year. May the Spirit of Freedom go in mighty power among all Americans. 4. Ask that our local, state and national elected representatives will work to preserve our Freedom and restore those Freedoms that have been taken. 5. Ask that the Constitution, in the tradition of the Founders, may be restored as the supreme law of the land and that the Separation of Powers be restored to our government. 6. Ask that the principles of moral living be enshrined in each American heart, that we may be worthy of divine protection for our Constitution and our Freedom.
ACTION ITEMS. 1. Sign the Petition to Keep Illegal Aliens Out of U.S. Jobs! http://www.numbersusa.com/news?ID=107672. Write about a number of issues concerning immigration on NumbersUSA. http://www.numbersusa.com/content/Urge President Bush to Pardon the Imprisoned Border Patrol Agents. Urge Your Members of Congress to Save 2.5 Million American Jobs 3. Go to the John Birch Society site at capwiz.com and pick from 20 issues: http://capwiz.com/jbs/home/ActionAlerts-Intros/?_p_preview=LAbolish the Federal Reserve System. Block the North American Union. Have Congress investigate the POW/MIA issue. Solve the immigration crisis by repealing NAFTA.
There are plenty of issues to write about. We use NumberUSA and the John Birch Society sites because they are easy to use and these organizations have tens of thousands of Americans writing along with us on these issues. This increases both our effectiveness and theirs. Freedom is not easily won and restoring our Freedom will take all of the dedication and stamina we can muster. The plan is simple and has been proven to work. We only need the morality and courage of the Founders and we will reverse the collectivist slide and begin again to let the light of Freedom burn brightly for the whole world. I am a great believer in the innate goodness of the American people. They will rise to the occasion as they always have and make Freedom available to all mankind.
