Prayer Alert

December 2007 #3

December 19, 2007

Congress will be adjourned by the time you read this.   The Senate will be in recess from tonight and the House tonight or tomorrow.    We will be safe until the New Year.

(Mark Twain is supposed to have said; “No man is safe when the legislature is in session.”)    We echo his sentiments.

It has been an eventful year.   Congress has proved surprisingly pliable when their constituents are aroused and vocal.     There were several hard-won victories and a few surprises:

  1. Variations of the amnesty bill were defeated in the Senate in June, September, and November.
  2. An anti-grassroots lobbying bill was killed in the House Judiciary Committee in May.

This confirms our thesis that most members of Congress are not dedicated left or right-wingers, but are only dedicated to being re-elected.    When they hear from enough of the folks back home, they are suddenly very responsive to their wishes.     When their constituents are quiet, they listen to the lobbyists who provide money and support at election time.

Our job, along with many other organizations, is to find, inform, train, and motivate a small group of activists in each Congressional District.    We believe that from 100 to 250 activists in a Congressional District will be enough to make almost any Senator or Representative very responsive to Freedom issues.

Almost 40% of the House votes 50% or more for Freedom issues.   There is another 20% of the House that votes 40% or better.   As the activists begin to exert their influence, this 20% will join the 40% and make a majority voting for Freedom issues.    This is how we retain and restore our Freedom.

This program is very doable.   There are literally millions of our fellow citizens upset with the economy, NAFTA, the Iraq War, illegal immigration, and the loss of Bill of Rights Freedoms.    We do not need a majority, history is made by dedicated minorities.    We will find and develop that dedicated minority who will make history by winning back our Freedom.

PRAYER REQUEST.

The power of prayer to affect circumstances is unquestioned.     This power must be utilized more effectively in the battle for our Freedom.     Occasional or sporadic prayers do not have the potency needed to win in this battle.    We must unite our prayers for maximum effect.    We are suggesting this plan to concentrate our prayer efforts.

Let us commit to pray for our Freedom and the welfare of our nation at a specific time

each day.      People from all around the country joining together in prayer will greatly magnify our individual efforts.     We will be more likely to engage in prayer if we know other are praying at that same time.    A spirit of community will be enjoyed by those participating and we will not feel so isolated or discouraged in our efforts to promote Freedom.

We propose that 9:00 P.M. EST be our time to unite in prayer for our nation.     The prayer need not be lengthy, but should be specific.     If this time is not convenient for you, change it so that you will have the opportunity for prayer daily at a scheduled time.     Whatever your time and circumstances, make specific prayer for our Freedom a part of your daily activity.                    9:00 EST,  8:00 CST,  7:00 MST,  6:00 PST.

You may wish to pray for the following items:

  1. That the spirit of Freedom will enlighten the people of our nation and that they will take the steps necessary to preserve and restore that Freedom.
  1. That our elected and appointed representatives will promote and preserve our Freedom.
  1. That we individually and as a people will repent and serve God so that we may deserve the blessings of Freedom.
  1. That our Armed Forces Personnel and our First Responders may have protection as they serve to keep us safe.
  1. That the enemies of Freedom may lose their influence, support, and finances which are used to destroy our Freedom.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray,          and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven,            and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.          2 Chr. 7: 14

Our  Christmas and New Years Prayer for all of us is that we may serve God and be more worthy of His many blessings to us.

God Bless America,

Will Christensen
