Good News!

There have been several pieces of good news this week [in the fight for freedom], two of which are from South Dakota:    

1.     The citizens of South Dakota have gathered enough signatures to place a State 

Constitutional Amendment on the ballot.    The Amendment will strip South Dakota Judges of 

"judicial immunity", the inability of a private citizen to sue a judge.    To eliminate frivolous 

lawsuits, suits must meet certain criteria and be approved by a Grand Jury before filing.   I have 

read the proposed Amendment and it appears to have all of the "Check and Balances" in place.

     If judicial accountability is your "hot button", go and do thou likewise in your state.

2.     A recent Washington Post article highlighted the South Dakota Legislature's efforts to limit 

abortion in the state.   These efforts have been largely successful and have drastically cut 

abortions in South Dakota.   The article may be read at this link:

    If you wish to limit abortions in your state, copy the legislation passed in South Dakota and 

submit them to your State Legislature.

3.     The House of Representatives held the extension of the sunset provisions of the USA 

Patriot Act to 30 days.    Since Congress reconvenes the third week of January, they only have a 

little over two weeks to extend the Act further.   The more onerous police state provisions of the 

USA Patriot Act will sunset on February 3, 2006 unless extended.    These provisions should 

expire and the whole Act should be rescinded.   For further information on rescission of the USA

      Call or write Congress, both the House and the Senate, asking them to let the USA Patriot Act 

sunset.   Contact both Houses of Congress in Washington often during their vacation and while 

they are in their home states, if you can.   Copy the letter at the link above and send it to your 

Representative and Senators.     There are over 400 municipalities and states that have passed 

resolutions against this Act.    Many of our citizens are with us on this issue.     Congress is 

beginning to listen. Our actions during this next month on this issue will determine whether we 

regain some of our Freedom.    Write and call persuasively and often.
